I am an ecosystem ecologist interested in how elements - the building blocks of life - shape the environments in which we live in. How processes that we can't see with the naked eye control the soil beneath our feet, the forests where we roam, and the air in which we breath.
I am a recent graduate from the University of Montana where I worked with Dr. Cory Cleveland to investigate how plants and microbes work together to acquire critically important nutrients that in turn have the potential to shape the community of tropical rain forests.
Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at Utah State University where I am working with Dr. John Stark to investigate how soil microbes in semiarid environments process carbon.
