I am an ecosystem ecologist interested in how the invisible mediates the visible. How elements - the building blocks of life - shape the environments in which we live in. How processes that we can’t see with the naked eye control the soil beneath our feet, the forests where we roam, and the air in which we breath.
Currently, I am finishing up a Postdoctoral Fellowship with Dr. John Stark at Utah State University to investigate how soil microbes in semiarid environments process carbon in response to land management, climate change, and plant invasion.
Concurrently, I am beginning a new position as the Senior Technical Analyst for the Utah Forest Institute at Utah State University. Under the direction of Dr. Jim Lutz, I am working towards a better understanding of fire severity and recovery in the beehive state.
